Applied Behavior Analysis
What Is ABA?
Applied behavior Analysis is the science of human behavior. It involves systematic implementation of interventions to improve socially significant behaviors. Through observation and data collection and analysis, behavior analysts are able to identify environmental factors that are responsible for changes in behavior and test the effects of interventions. This data-driven science aims to replace maladaptive behaviors by increasing positive, prosocial behaviors – leading to increased independence and social inclusion.
Who Can Benefit?
Anyone! Applied Behavior Analysis is the only evidence-based treatment for individuals with Autism, but the effects of ABA therapy are not limited to a specific medical diagnosis or behavior concern. As mentioned above, ABA is the science of human behavior – this includes all humans. The Behavior Doc aims to improve socially significant behaviors of children and young adults who are experiencing behavior concerns or skill delays.
